HISTORY

History of the Hilton-Parma Recreation Department

In December of 1957, the Boards of Trustees of the Village of Hilton and the Town of Parma voted to join together to operate and maintain a community youth recreation program. Mr. Joseph Pasquarella was hired as the department’s first part-time director of the program beginning January 1, 1958. Through the next 19 years, the Hilton-Parma Recreation Department became an important fixture within the community expanding leisure opportunities to a point where the decision was made to hire a full-time Director of Recreation to oversee the department operations. In January 1977, Mr. Bob Dionisio was our communities first full-time Director of Recreation and subsequently five other individuals have followed in his foot steps.
