Happy 200th Birthday Town of Parma! 1809 - 2009

Town of Parma Bicentennial Logo Contest

Have an artistic flare? Have a picture that comes to mind when you think of historical Parma? Want to show your community pride? Well the Town of Parma is celebrating its Bicentennial – Happy 200th Birthday Town of Parma!! Town Historian Tom Burger has formed a committee of local residents to plan events for a yearlong Bicentennial Celebration. The committee has chosen Parma – 200 Years of Fruitful Living as its slogan and is looking for residents of the Town to submit entries for a logo. The contest winner will receive commemorative souvenirs and recognition during many bicentennial events.

Contest Rules:

  • The entry must be an original creation done by a Parma resident and not copyrighted.
  • It must be suitable for embroidery or silk screening.
  • Please include your name, address and telephone number on a separate piece of paper along with your entry.
  • Entries can be submitted via postal mail to: Parma Bicentennial Logo Contest, PO Box 728, Hilton, NY 14468 or dropped off at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Parma Town Hall from 8:00 - 4:00 Monday through Friday and until 5:00 on Thursdays; no later than May 1, 2008.
  • All entries become the property of the Parma Bicentennial Committee.
  • You may submit more than one entry. Please do not combine multiple entries together.

Events are being planned for a year long celebration starting and ending with the Town’s Annual Summer Celebration. This year’s celebration will run July 31st, August 1st and August 2nd.

Watch for future articles and the creation of a Bicentennial website which will provide a calendar of events and information on ways that citizens can participate. In the meantime, watch for postings on this website.
